Frequently Asked Questions

What does Xenon do?

Xenon helps you build and maintain a clear inventory of your digital services and subscriptions. It gives you a structured overview of what exists, what it costs and when payments happen — without turning this into a full-time admin job.

Start with a free bank transaction scan. Upgrade for ongoing email monitoring and maintenance.

How does the free discovery work?

You upload a copy of your bank transaction history (CSV) from your own computer. Xenon works with transaction exports from any bank that provides CSV downloads, with support for multiple currencies. You can upload files from multiple accounts and financial institutions. You can also upload new bank transaction files at any time to refresh or recalibrate your inventory.

Xenon analyses that file to identify likely digital services and recurring subscriptions. It then presents a structured list for you to review and confirm.

Your original file is not stored. It is processed and then discarded. The file remains on your device. No human at Xenon is able to ever see your bank transactions.

What does Xenon store? Is my data secure?

Xenon stores your account information (name and email), your confirmed digital service inventory, beneficiary designations (if on paid plan), and subscription metadata needed to maintain your records.

Xenon does not store bank login credentials, passwords for any service, raw bank transaction files, full email content, or payment card details (handled by Stripe).

How does email monitoring work?

If you choose the paid plan and connect your email, Xenon checks for subscription-related messages to keep your inventory up to date. You can connect multiple email accounts.

Xenon does not read or store your personal email content. No human at Xenon is able to ever read your emails. You can revoke email access at any time.

Can Xenon cancel subscriptions for me?

No — and here's why. Despite what some services claim, truly automated cancellation isn't possible for most subscriptions. Every provider has different cancellation flows — some require you to log in, some need you to call, some bury it behind retention offers, and many change their process without notice. Services that promise one-click cancellation typically just send a cancellation request email on your behalf, which most providers ignore.

Xenon takes a different approach: we show you exactly what you're paying for and provide cancellation information where available to make the cancellation process itself as easy as possible.

What happens if I stop paying?

If you cancel your paid subscription, email monitoring stops, ongoing updates stop, and your stored inventory remains accessible until the end of your billing period. You can export your data at any time, and return later to resume monitoring.
